What your team will need to provide:

ingredients for 10-12 gallons of gumbo

gas cookers & propane tanks

stock pots and all cooking utensils

It's all about fun! Teams are scored on team spirit, cook site decor, and team theme to win the "Spirit Award". Winners receive trophy.

Patrons vote for their favorite gumbo by placing a ticket in your team's ticket jar (provided by Episcopal Place), winner receives a trophy

Chef's Choice Awards: (both pro and backyard)

Each team selects a classification in which their gumbo will be judged:

best seafood gumbo, winner receives a trophy

best chicken & sausage gumbo, winner receives a trophy

best specialty gumbo, winner receives a trophy

Divine Gumbo

Episcopal teams compete for the "Most Divine Gumbo" award. Winner receives a trophy.

Judging Criteria:
Each gumbo entry within each division will be blind judged by judging panels consisting of award-winning chefs and food experts.

Aroma - gumbo should smell rich and tempting

Consistency - gumbo should be a smooth combination of ingredients and roux
-
Color - gumbo should look appetizing with a dark and smooth roux
-
Taste - gumbo should have a rich and pleasing taste
